    How to make a cookie bouquet for Valentine’s Day?

    • Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and baking soda; stir well into the creamed mixture. Cover and chill for 1 hour, or until cool enough to handle.
    • Roll out half of the dough to 1/8-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. 
    • Using a floured 3-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out the shapes. Place 1 inch apart on baking pans that haven't been greased.
    • Using skewers, place one end of each skewer about 1 inch from the top of each heart on top of each cookie. 
    • Press gently into the dough. Place a small amount of additional dough on top of each skewer and press it into the biscuit to secure it.
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until firm. Allow cooling for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
    • On a lightly floured board, roll out the remaining dough. Using a floured 3-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out the shapes. Using a 1-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out the centres.
    • Combine the butter, confectioners' sugar, and enough cherry juice to make a spreading consistency in a small bowl. Using skewers, gently spread frosting over cookies; top with cookies with cutout centres.
